What are your thoughts on the music at Mass and what are your thoughts on the way secular media portrays the Church compared to Catholic Media.

I have read several articles from reputable sources pertaining to the Holy Father's thoughts regarding music played at mass. However, I seriously question the authenticity of the second article you posted from the New York Sun which claims that the Holy Father wants to dismiss the use of guitars at Mass...especially in consideration of the the first article you posted from the Catholic News Service. They quote from the Vatican News Source: "The pope said that in music, as in art and architecture, the church promotes and supports "new expressive means without denying the past -- the history of the human spirit -- which is also the story of its dialogue with God."
This article suggests to me that the Holy Father is not asking us to throw out contemporary music at Mass, but to also accept and use the beautiful classic Mass music created in the past.
Unless someone can point to a more reputable news source with respect to the Holy Father's position on guitar playing at Mass, I suggest we disregard the information provided by the New York Sun in this regard...
